Terms of Use
Last updated 6 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of Rulecraft. By downloading or using the app, you accept them.
- Rulecraft's answers are generated by an AI model and can be wrong. They are a research aid, not a ruling. Check the official rulebook when it matters.
- A free weekly allowance of questions is included. Rulecraft Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store.
- Apple handles all billing and refunds for purchases made in the app.
- You can delete your account and everything in it at any time.
1. Who you are contracting with
Rulecraft is operated by Antonio David García Alhambra, NIF 21801680A, Av. País Valencià 4, 12590 Almenara, Castellón, Spain ("we", "us"). Reach us at support@rulecraft.app.
Because Rulecraft is distributed through the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app. Where that agreement and these terms conflict on a licensing matter, Apple's agreement governs; these terms govern the Rulecraft service itself.
2. Who may use Rulecraft
You must be at least 13 years old. If your country requires a parent or guardian's consent for someone your age to use an online service, you may use Rulecraft only with that consent.
3. What Rulecraft is — and what it is not
Rulecraft answers questions about board game rules. It retrieves passages from rulebooks and other sources and has a language model assemble an answer from them, showing the sources it drew on.
Those answers can be wrong. A model can misread a rule, miss an exception, apply the wrong edition, or resolve an ambiguity differently from the publisher. The sources shown beside an answer say where the material came from — not that the publisher endorses the conclusion.
Treat Rulecraft as a fast second opinion, not an authority. Where an answer decides something that matters — a tournament, a disputed play, a rules argument between friends — confirm it against the official rulebook or the publisher's own errata and FAQ. We do not warrant that any answer is correct, complete, or current, and we are not responsible for the outcome of a game played on one.
Rulecraft is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any game publisher or designer, or by BoardGameGeek.
4. Your account
Rulecraft creates an anonymous account the first time you open it, so you can use the app without signing in. You can make that account permanent by signing in with Apple, which keeps everything you have already saved.
If the Apple credential you use already belongs to another Rulecraft account, the app offers to merge them. Merging moves the anonymous account's collection and question history into the permanent account and then retires the anonymous one. Where both accounts hold the same game, the permanent account's entry is kept.
You are responsible for what happens through your account and for keeping access to your Apple ID secure.
You can delete your account from Settings at any time. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone; the Privacy Policy describes exactly what is erased.
5. Free questions, ads, and Rulecraft Pro
The free allowance
Rulecraft includes a number of free questions each week. The current allowance and how much of it remains are shown in the app. We may change the size of the allowance; if we reduce it, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
Rewarded ads
Some extras — such as a game's background music — can be unlocked by watching a rewarded ad. Watching is always your choice, and nothing in the app requires it. Subscribers do not see ads.
Rulecraft Pro
Rulecraft Pro is an auto-renewable subscription that removes the weekly limit and unlocks subscriber features. It is sold through the App Store, and the following applies:
- The price, billing period, and any introductory or trial offer are shown in the app before you confirm the purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the new period starts.
- You manage and cancel the subscription in your Apple ID account settings, not in Rulecraft. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end.
- Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Apple handles billing and refunds. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases — request one from Apple. This does not affect statutory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
If we discontinue Rulecraft Pro or materially reduce what it includes during a period you have paid for, we will tell you in the app and, where the law requires it, arrange a proportionate remedy.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not use Rulecraft for anything unlawful, abusive, infringing, or harmful, or to attack the security of the service or its users.
- Do not attempt to bypass the free allowance, rate limits, app attestation, or any other technical control — including by creating accounts to reset limits.
- Do not scrape, bulk-extract, resell, or redistribute answers, the game catalogue, or ingested rulebook material.
- Do not use Rulecraft to build or train a competing product, or to generate content at a scale the app is not designed for.
- Do not reverse engineer non-public APIs or attempt unauthorised access to any part of the service.
- Do not submit questions containing personal data about other people, or anything you would not want processed by our providers.
7. Content and intellectual property
The app, its design, and the software behind it belong to us. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Rulecraft on devices you own or control, and nothing more.
Questions you write remain yours. You grant us the permission needed to store them, send them to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy, and return an answer.
Answers are generated for you and you may use them freely for your own purposes. Because they are assembled by a model from third-party material, we make no claim of ownership over them and cannot grant you rights in the underlying sources.
Game names, rulebooks, artwork, and trademarks belong to their publishers. Catalogue data comes from BoardGameGeek and is subject to their terms. Background-music links point to YouTube and are subject to YouTube's terms.
8. Availability and changes
Rulecraft is a product under active development. We may add, change, limit, or remove features, supported games, and integrations, and we depend on third-party services that can themselves change or go away. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
We may update these terms. The new version is posted here with a new date, and material changes will be signalled in the app. Continuing to use Rulecraft after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, stop using the app and delete your account.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, the service is being abused, or action is needed to protect users, our providers, or our legal rights. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right.
You may stop using Rulecraft and delete your account at any time.
10. Disclaimers
Rulecraft is provided as-is and as-available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that answers are accurate, that third-party data is complete or current, or that the service will meet your requirements.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections.
11. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Rulecraft or of any third-party service it connects to.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Rulecraft in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty euros.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
If something goes wrong, write to support@rulecraft.app first — most problems are quicker to fix that way.
13. Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for Rulecraft. Apple is not responsible for the app, for any claim that it fails to conform to a warranty, or for any third-party claim that it infringes intellectual property rights; those are our responsibility, to the extent the law does not exclude it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
